The Village Green Refurbishment Committee is part of the Village Green Action Team established as a result of the Parish Plan where it was identified that the village green needed attention to make it more accessible and useful and included suggestions such as seating and updated/additional play equipment.

The committee is chaired by David Ayre and made up of a number of volunteers including Sharon Crossley, Charlotte Donelly, Denise Sage, Sandra Morton and Joan Adams.

A proposal for the refurbishment of the village green has been drawn up and the images below show before and after effects of the proposed changes. The general plan is to re-organise the car park area (making it rectangular), stretch the sports field and fence in the play area to make it safer for children.

An application for Lottery funding to refurbish the village green has now been made and we will know in November 2006 if this has been successful. We have been short-listed for the Peoples Millions as part of the Big Lottery Fund and are 1 of 6 projects which are competing for 4 awards.
